Innovative Transportation Solutions Team

Charley Kennington – Director

Charley has been involved in pupil transportation for 25 years. Prior to Region 4, Charley was the State Director of School Bus Transportation with the Texas Department of Public Safety. He has served as a Board Member on the National Association of State Directors of Pupil Transportation Services, Southeastern States Pupil Transportation Conference, Transporting Students with Disabilities Conference, Pupil Transportation Safety Institute, and the Texas Operation Lifesaver. Charley also served as State Delegation Chair for the 13th and 14th National Congress on School Transportation and as the Writing Committee Chair for Infants, Toddlers and Pre-school section for the 15th NCST. He is currently serving as a board member of the National Association of State Directors of Pupil Transportation Services – Supplier Council and the Transporting Students with Disabilities Conference.

Marisa Weisinger – Technical Specialist

Marisa has been actively involved in student transportation for 24 years.  Previous to joining Region 4 she was Director of Transportation for Columbia-Brazoria ISD and Huntsville ISD, and previously was the Transportation Trainer for Birdville ISD. Marisa has served on the board of the Texas Association for Pupil Transportation (TAPT), as President of the Gulf Coast Chapter of the TAPT, is an instructor for both the TAPT and TASBO professional certification programs, has presented both locally and nationally, and serves on various related committees.

Jaime Gallego – Consultant

Jaime has been involved in pupil transportation for over 35 years.  He has been the Transportation Director at Houston ISD and Humble ISD.  Jaime is also Past President and Webmaster for the Texas Association for Pupil Transportation, Past President of the Texas Association for Pupil Transportation Gulf Coast Chapter and has made pupil transportation-related presentations on the local, state and national level.
